And the days fly by...

I have been busy. Busy is actually an understatement. Between moving, taking care of my little man cub and putting a new house together (we started out with very little - not much can come with you when you move from Hawaii) I have not had a ton of time to blog, or even relax. I'm feeling a little burnt out. Lucky for me, I am working on a fun little project for someone I like, who wrote a pretty cool book. The book talks about conent and events and people pretty dear to my heart so I am honored that this person chose me to work with. Also, I am going home to Portland in a few weeks and I couldn't be happier about it! Henry has never been so I am pretty thrilled to show him around. I also have a pretty exciting announcement about my visit to Portland that I will be sharing soon! Until next time (when I find myself with 5 minutes to spare for the blogging world)....

PS - How do you handle stress? I used to be a cryer. I got mad - I cried. I got flustered - I cried. Now I just get really angry! HAHA, what is up with that? Must be the mamma bear in me. But seriously, how do you cope with life's little stresses?

When I'm super stressed, usually I just need to go and do something for myself. And by myself. Like go for a drive in the mountains (when I lived in Utah), go read a book at the beach (home in San Diego), go to a movie alone, treat myself to a really good meal, etc. I don't know what it's like being a mom in that situation, but I am CERTAIN that someone would gladly watch your boy for an hour for you to treat yourself. - Also, being creative. Making something. Doing something. That's when I feel the best.

Good luck! I hope things calm down soon!

I've been getting really stressed out/frustrated lately too, and what helps me a little bit is taking about 5 minutes to close my eyes and breathe. I breathe in for a long time and imagine I'm breathing in happy, relaxing energy & contentment and then I breathe out my stress, exhaustion, anger, whatever it is. This has made me feel a lot better and a bit more capable of handling everything that life throws my way.

I go for a very fast walk and pretend I'm in New York. Being stressed on the prairies is annoying, but being stressed in NY is such a matter of course, you hardly notice it. Plus, when you're in NY, you're allowed to growl at fellow pedestrians as you breeze by. This is a very important part of the process. You don't have to be a mama bear to enjoy a good growl.

I'm a stress eater. Something that was just recently pointed out to me by someone close who observed the amount of chocolate Trader Joe's treats I've been consuming since having my second baby. Its really working for me so whatever!
